Suicidal Tendencies - Lights..Camera..Revolution (1990)

Of all the Suicidal Tendecies albums this one is my favourite. When my home got burgled in 2004,nearly all my CD's were nicked but they left the ST's,well all except this one! So maybe those thieves did have some taste. The silly bastards did leave all my vinyl which delighted me but they made up for it by taking most of my other stuff. The highlight of this album is track 1 (You Can't Bring Me Down) which was also a single and is probably my favourite ST's track of all time.

The band were never quite the same when guitarist Rocky George left but they remained a Longy favourite. Rocky wasn't in the original line-up of the band when they started around the 83 period but in my opinion, the band were at their best when he was in them. Some will no doubt disagree with this opinion but thats all it is,an opinion.

Whenever the word "crossover" is mentioned, the Suicidal Tendencies name tends to crop up so if you like your Punk/Thrash/Skate/Hardcore crossover then you'll love this. If you have any sense, then you'll have it already anyway!

A very interesting and polarizing band. Much to blame for the West Coast California violence thing in the early 80's. Love their first album and like this one. Probably THE greatest "crossover" band around.

I do have it! Their first was one of my early favourites when getting into punk music. You Can't Bring Me Down is tied for my second favourite ST song. That after of course Institutionalized, their big "hit". The music video was also awesome. Didn't really get much into the crossover. When you had ST there was no need for others.

Cheers for the comments Topper,Ken,Anon and Viacom.

Ken I've read a little bit about the gang stuff that was ST related but as its your neck of the world,I would like to hear more. Was it really the bands fault or was it just their followers? Do tell!

Generally speaking, their fans were from Venice and surrounding suburbs of LA. “Mexican Americans” with "gang affiliations". They brought the whole "cholo" and "vato" bullshit into a scene that had way too much "jock-itch" macho crap in it all ready! Some of their fans were fucking insane on "Angel Dust" and stupid violence, I would surmise most are dead or incarcerated. One can't live that way for very long! I'm not really complaining, because I have fond memories of making out with shaved headed cuties in the balcony of The Olympic while watching "Knuckle Heads" beat the shit out of each other! Go listen to Manic Hispanic, for more information!

One of the greatest albums ever recorded.

Too many of my 'punk' pals ONLY listen to the first ST album...
