Punk On Top Of The Pops (VHS Rip) Part 1

A while ago on ebay I brought a home made DVD entitled Punk On Top Of The Pops. Its by no means a definitive collection and focus's mainly on the period of 1978/79 but its not totally exclusive to those years and the songs are in no kind of order. Whoever made this DVD obviously ripped it from VHS as the quaility isn't perfect but its good enough. Just about all of it was recorded from the much later broadcasted UK Gold programme (cheers for the correction Marky!)

Theres so much stuff on this so its going to be divided into 10 parts making it easier for you to download (and much easier for me to upload) There will be a daily part uploaded until its completed next week (hopefully!) I think theres 50+ songs altogether.

Top Of The Pops wasn't the best programme for Punk music in the UK by any means (that title went to the short lived "Revolver") but thats the point really. Top Of The Pops was stable and long lived and was broadcasted weekly. Many bands made the programme and many got on it more than once too as you'll see just by watching all this over the next week and a half.

So I hope you enjoy what you are about to recieve. Enjoy the hilarious miming from the likes of The Stranglers,The Damned,Sham's Jimmy Pursey and especially Sir Bob Geldorf with his Boomtown Rats. Theres plenty of The Jam to spread about, drool over Blondie once more or if you can't quite make the toilet in time, then theres always the Skids! Plus many many more to enjoy.

Part 1 (re-upped)

Buzzcocks - Ever Fallen In Love
Sham 69 - Hurry Up Harry
The Jam - Down In The Tube Station At Midnight
Sham 69 - Questions And Answers
The Skids - Charade
Blondie - Picture This

Some great stuff here Longy I have a lot of it but there's a couple I don't I love these clips. One thing though these are from UK Gold not TOTP's 2 as you mentioned which is a good thing as that show has those stupid fact bubbles and Steve Wright talks over the tracks these are much much better. cheers mate.

Cheers Marky and yes you are right it is UK Gold. I shall correct the post. Yea that TOTP's 2 used to bug the crap out of me with Wrighty and those Bubbles.

Jesus christ! What's with Richard Jobson's hair in that Skids clip? I can't believe that people still bang on about the bloke from Flock of Seagull's hair when Jobson has both the hair and the outfit in that clip.

Nice upload, btw.

Theres alot of dodgy hair on this series but Jobson is right up there! Cheers Darren.
