Tonights friday night Punk Friction "special" is this performance from March 14th,1984 which was filmed by Spanish TV rock program,"LA Edad de Oro". The line-up features Sylvain Sylvain,Billy Rath and Jerry Nolan. The band runs through the usual standards, and theres a very nice acoustic segment (with a flamenco guitarist backing JT up) as well.
The boys look like they had a good time, and Johnny is in fine form. Theres a little coda at the end with a New York Dolls clip and then and now shots Thunders,Sylvain and Nolan. This is pro-shot and its a very enjoyable. 27 minutes and 54 seconds in total. Use HJ-Split to join all the downloaded files together http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/
A big thanks to my mate Graham who sent me this one a while back. Dedicated to everyone who loved the great Johnny Thunders.

Awesome stuff thanks mate.
Cheers Mark and Marky. I'm glad someone appreciates it.
Hi Longy!
"LA Edad de Oro", not LE Edad... Title comes from Buñuel's film "L'age d'or". Used to watch that show, probably I saw the one with Thunders, the bit about a flamenco segment sounds familiar... That show had such influence in the day. I remember The Lords of the New Church appeared there (Stiv Bators pulled out his ding-a-ling in front of an unexpecting Spanish audience!) and after that the LNC had tons of punk fans in the country. La Edad de oro was usually very arty and pretentious but had its moments.
Saludos,
Fernando :)
Hi Fernando. Cheers for the info. My Spanish is worse than my English but I have corrected my error. I've got a LOTC from Spain somewhere but I'm not sure if its from La Edad de oro or not. I'll have to check it out if and when I can find it! Cheers for your comments.
lol Mark.
Fanx for this, I used to see Johnny now and again in Leeds, when he was matey with Stevie Vayne (anybody know Stevie's whereabouts these days?), they once played at the Warehouse together and Johnny voiced his concerns about The Dead Vaynes drug intake!)Best Wishes & keep up the good work Longy,
Stewart
Cheers Stewart. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I can't help you on the whereabouts of Stevie Vanye though.
Excellent - as always!
