Rapidshare are a bunch of c***s. I am a fully paid up (until Feb 2011) Premium Account Holder and with the amount of large files I upload,I've obviously got a lot (well everything) stored on their hosting thingy. Well these fuckers have now changed the goalposts for the likes of myself and they have a new system - see here if you can fathom it out http://www.rapidshare.com/news.html . Basically rather than paying for a time period with these wankers which I have done well in advance,they are going on 1) how much is stored on the server (what I have on their server will cost me more than I have paid unless they delete a shit-load of files) and....this is the bit I really don't like 2) They are limiting what people can download from here a day......well unless I pay more that is.
They have changed the goal-posts as far as I am concerned and I am not prepared to pay these tossers another penny. Neither am I prepared to continually re-upload files that they have deleted because I have gone over their new made-up hosting limit. Remember,I re-upped every bloody single on here recently too.
My advice people - If you want anything from this site is take it now before it gets deleted by the people I've paid (in advance) in good faith.
There are a few more posts to go before I stop blogging here but that is what I will be doing I'm afraid. I'm not gone yet but I will be and that is a certainty although I will leave this page open just in case the pricks leave anything for you to download :)
I might start a football blog instead :) Who knows but until then.......happy downloading and I'll be around tomorrow with something else for you to grab before it's too late!

hi. sorry to hear that you are planning to close your site. rapidshit seem to be pissing off all their customers by doing this as most sites are swapping to megaupload or hotfile as like yourself they refuse to give those bastards any more money. i will be sad to see your go but at the same time i understand why you are doing it. guesty.

I never liked Rapididshare, I call them Download Nazi's. I've never uploaded files as large as videos, but Media fire has been great by me.I think they're more download friendly as well.I enjoy your site, I hope you keep it going.

Frank,I started on mediafire but they deleted most of my files too hence the changeover to rapidshite.
I have got some credits left (or rapids as those twats call them) but when they start asking me for dosh/or deleting tonnes of files then its curtains here. I've had a good run anyway and I'll still be about to annoy everyone :)
Fight back means re-up everything again Marky and honestly mate,I cannot be arsed....not for a third time. My mind is made up and I was going to end soon anyway to be honest. Those pricks just moved it along a bit quicker. You'll be okay for quite a bit mate. Its those people that upload videos and have over 50 gigs of stuff on rapidtwat that will suffer.
Sad to hear that you are planing to end this fine blog. i wonder why these people are sabotaging their own system. which obviously worked great for them. greed i guess. but as long as the files are frequently downloaded they stay uploaded. or did they change that, too?

I'm having problems trying to download links from them. It'll go through the procedure, but when it gets to the Download button, I don't get the option to save to my computer. No reason comes up you just get the bloody wait 15 minutes option coming up and when you wait and try again it does exactly the same thing.
They're just a bunch of Shag Merchants!!

Hi Korla. Thanks for your kind words. Yup greed it is. As for files staying active,well they should stay active yes but if you've gone over what they now say is your storage limit and like me,you are not prepared to pay more then no,they will delete the files that have not been downloaded for a while to keep my storage at under 50 gigs. Add to that they want me to pay extra for over 50 gigs and for more of you to download files and you can see why I'm not having it!

i had an email recently from rapidshi*e telling me my regular account had been converted to a free premium account.ive not signed up yet cos i cant work out if its legit or not.anyway i hope you keep up the blogging and hopefully youll move to megaupload.i use that all the time now and never get any of the hassle i get with rapidshi*e.anyways all the best old chap.
I respect your decision to quit but I secretly hope the itch will come back soon and you'll find an approach without those fuckers at Rpaidshare!

It wouldn't be so bad if I was just blogging music but because of the digital turntable issue I still have,I can't even do that - so sod it!
Well, that email from Crapidshare has been sitting in my inbox on my other computer for a week and you just prompted me to read it just now. Me no like, but I don't upload movies, so it looks like I'm good for a while + I use them for downloads all the time. Mediafire blows--don't listen to that other guy. They delete files without even telling you and don't seem too friendly towards large files. I have Megaupload and Hotfile accounts and they are both pretty reliable but, honestly, I always liked Rapidshare the best. I think they are making a mistake in changing their billing policy.
Mediafire has been good to me because I store all my music files in the same folder, hence no file is deleted after 30 days with no one downloading it--there are always new files downloading to keep the folder open (and the old files). Megaupload should be used for movies and in the same regard, keep them all in the same folder. Good luck. Don't comment until you read directions.
Sorry to hear that the new policies from Rabidshrek could deprive us of all the good things that you stored, just for the sake of exchanging great music around the web. It happened to me in the past with...X-Fire (I think) that suddenly became not free anymore and even I couldn't access to my files anymore. Keep going as long as you can, please.

Sorry to hear this Longy , I only used Rapidshite a few times and didn't really get on with it so i started using Megaupload and never looked back, but then i wasn't uploading the size files you were uploading.
Hopefully you decide about not going but if you do go, you & your blog will be missed

Gods honest truth mate. Now I hope you can understand why I'm not continuing. I'm actually spending most of time downloading every film and documentary I want on rapidshare while I still have an account. I can get quite a bit in 25 days too!

Gotta admit I don't really understand all these new rules, I'm still pissed off that I don't get the free months anymore which was one of the reasons I went with them.
Not sure what to do when this one runs out as I've used most of the others like Megaupload in the past and they've deleted all my files within weeks, where RS have been good to me and only deleted a few in the last 3 years.
It depends how much you have uploaded Lee. Anything over 50 gigs inactive gets deleted.
