Subhumans - Live in 1984

Who doesn't like this band? There can't be many surely! This little feature includes a short interview with the band,7 tracks from one gig and 3 from another, both from 1984. I have absolutely no idea where this came from or where it was filmed but whats new. All I do know is this is brilliant and includes some of their best songs.

YES!!! This is fucking great! I love the Subhumans, and have since I bought "The Day The Country Died" back in what, 1982 or 1983?

Pisses me off I'd had to wait almost 30 years to see them in their live glory.

Thank you for this blast from my past.

and not that appearances are everything, or anything, but it's a little funny that aside from the singer, the band members look decidedly "un-punk". They almost look like they could be in the Bay City Rollers or something.

but they fucking kick ass nonetheless.

I don't think they were ever into a punk uniform unlike many of their fans. They just wore that they liked which in a sense,is as punk as it could be.

Cheers for your comments pesky. I'm glad you like it.

I'm not sure which city this was filmed in, but I'm sure this is from the US84 tour as I saw them at the Minneapolis, MN gig. I know this wasn't shot at that gig cuz we got Dick so pissed he lost his glasses on stage, ha ha!!
Thanx for this blog, we yanks don't have access to a lot of this stuff, they can't make enough money on REAL punk to ship it here, cunts!
That program you linked is fucking brilliant, Thanx and Cheers, RATBOY in Minneapolis, MN U-Suck-A

That year in 2003 I lived for weekends onthe Strip. These guys played the Roxy and after my favorite brown rice sushi roll joint I walked down past the Hustler museum to find it the English Subhuman's. Though I regret now giving the ticket to some young local who couldn't get into the sold out show. I continued my night nonplused. I sort of regret it but again it made that young punks day.

P.S. HEy Ratboy...you my neighbor now. Gotta check these guys out now that you all are diggin' this

Pretty shite match? You beat us 2 nil to go top of the league and you say it`s pretty shite!?! I`d have hated to have known what you thought was a good match back in the eighties then! Subhumans are playing in our local punk venue (sawyers in kettering, northants)in december and i`m excited already! Pissed off though as citizen fish played last month and no one told me about it.

Well it was a pretty shite match mate. Just being honest. I thought we were poor and you were even poorer.

A good match back in the 80's? Well there were many especially season 83/84 in the 2nd Division! That was and will probably always be my favourite season (and we were Champions)

Not been to a match at the bridge since 2001( that dennis wise goal whenn he knocked vesterweld off the ball!) so don`t know what the atmosphere`s like but the only time we get anything like a good old eighties atmosphere at anfield nowadays is on european nights. Saturday games are so quiet now its embarrasing

To be honest mate its dire. You can't even call a Spurs fan what he calls himself now (a yid) without fear of a 3 year ban. I prefered the old days. At least there was a proper buzz about the place.
