Some King Kurt for a change. This was their 2nd single and the only one that got in the UK top 40 charts, reaching the heady heights of number 36. They were a great live band.Tracks
1) Destination Zululand

The awesomeness of this band leaves me speechless. Great! Thanks Longy.
Cheers!
Great live Band...loads of fun !
Longy do you remember the snakebite competions and the tar and feather fun and i'm sure they were ripping open dead rabbits and chucking them in the crowd when they supported Anti Nowhewre League at the Lyceum 82....but then again that might have been an drug induced dream of mine lol
Cheers Mike. Vulture when I saw Anti Nowhere League in 82 they had The Meteors supporting them down here (and Chron Gen and Cult Maniax too) The Meteors were bloody mental as well!
Longy the Anti Nowhere League gig i went to was a xmas one with the adicts, king kurt & actifed supporting .
I loved the Lyceum gigs, saw some great bands there and talkin about The Meteors ...their wreckin' crew used to scare the shite outta me ...fuckin' mental lot
Hello mate I just bought this and thought you would want to know about it.

It's pretty cool to here these tracks at last after 30 years.
Sadly i'm unable to rip these at the moment problem with my pc!
I could send you a tape the old fashioned way if you like tough.
Cheers Marky Dread (Sparks)
Stop it Vulture your making me jealous. My late parents decided in their un-wisdom to move out of London in June 1976 when I was 11. Can you imagine just how many bands I would of seen if I had stayed in West London. It pisses me off just thinking about it lol!
Hello Marky. Thanks for the heads up on that one. I must admit I didn't know this was going to get released. Whats the sound like on it? If its any good I'll probably buy anyway......if not then I'll download it somewhere
The sound on the Sham Pistols is really good mate. A good addition to any Sham or Pistols collection.
Cheers Sparks I'll get it then. Ta again for the heads up.
"They were a great live band." - - actually they never stopped playing, and are still going to this day. Lead singer (the charmingly named) Smeg still at the helm. Other original members have come & gone, and I think there was/is some dodgy offshoot claiming the same name.
Here's the myspace of the "offical" Smeg-fronted KK...

Thanks for posting! I remember the original 12" of this played backwards. I need to find that again...
Cheers for the info JJ. I didn't realise they were still about.
I think I saw the video first... huge quiffs in the desert... "Destination Zululand" and their irresistible version of "America" are probably my favourite King Kurt's tunes.
But as you said it's as a great live act that they were (are) mostly famous.
Thanx Longy
Your welcome Jeronyme.
She's as hairy as a girl can be. She's as hairy as a chimpanzee.
Priceless.
Saw them at the After Dark in Reading probably '84 lots of offal being thrown around anyone stupid enough to get up on stage got a free haircut....great fun!
Ah, great stuff! I have the 12" of this one with the backward pressing so it plays from the inside out.
Love it!! Ta Longy
Your welcome chaps
