Another from Plymouth's Optimistic label......Energy I.Q.'s one and only single from the heady days of 1980. Enjoy the Through The Plughole EP on crackly knackered 7'' vinyl for the first time on the net.
Tracks
1) Boat People
2) Slag Song
3) One Way System

Really enjoy those Optimistic label stuff. I have a list on the label but this one's not mentioned.
001 Sabotage - When The War Is Over 7"
002 The D's - My Toy 7"
003 Jethro - Wind Of Change 7"
004 Sabotage - Subterfuge 7"
005 SPQR - Passing Dream 7"
006 Mascara - Desolate World 7"
007 Revs - The Cure 7"
Where does the Energy I.Q. one fit? Would be great if you could help.
Thanks for that list Curious Guy. The Revs and Jethro I don't know at all (surely not THEE Jethro lol) Would love to know if there is any references online re the list.
That Mascara one listed is actually the No Meaning EP.
The Energy IQ is Opt 008
And my SPQR is coming up in the next week or so. Passing Dream is the B side of that and is much better than the A side which is called "Don't Panic"
Glad someone else likes the Optimistic stuff as well.
Thanks alot Longy! Well I got the info from a book on defunct indie labels called They Could Have Been Bigger Than EMI. All the info was online a few years ago but the guy removed it 'cos there was almost no response. He hoped that more people would contribute to find missing entries and all. There's a link for that book on my Phoenix Hairpins blog if you're interested.
Yeah don't think Jethro is the Tull one :)
Thanks Curious Guy,I will indeed look it up. Sounds interesting.
PS I mean't Jethro (the so called comedian) whos from that neck of the woods : - )
