The Teardrops - Vinyl Final LP (1980)

Just last week here on Punk Friction we had a very special guest non other than Trevor Wain the singer from The Teardrops (see comments on the other Teardrops post) Well I mentioned to him I was eyeing this one up on ebay and I made an offer for 7 quid which to my surprise was accepted. So I went the whole hog and also brought the In And Out Fashion 12'' too while I was at it. I'll post that next week if anyone wants it.

This is a pretty experimental LP in my opinion but I have always liked it. I'm hoping our man returns to Punk Friction to give us more information and perhaps one of the silent majority on here or a regular commenter might have a question for Trevor too.

Tracks

1) Everythings O.K.
2) No One Is Innocent
3) Hey Count De Bok Bok
4) Teenage Vice
5) Meet The Teardrops
6) Some People
7) Slow Glass
8) Fackin Kant
9) Time To Go

Just read Trevor's comments on the previous post. Never heard of this band but seeing as there's some Fall involvement I've gotta give these a listen.
Cheers mate!

Your welcome chaps.

I'm sure Trevor would disagree, but this is very Fall-esque...
I love it!
This is now my favourite record of the week.
Look forward to hearing the other record you've got.

Nice one Rod. Yes its the keyboards I hear and I think "Its The New Thing"-esque. Not the tune but the sound.

I also hear Steve Garvey's Bass and think A Fiction Romance in the mix somewhere too.

Hi folks,Yes I do think it's the most Fall sounding collection. The reason being,Karl,Martin & Tony had most of the control of the mixing desk!
One of the characters mentioned on "Some People" is Ian Nance who was in M/cr glam punk band V2.
He also went to our school and Jim,John,Ian & myself recorded some stuff in Graveyard studios in 1978. Trevor.

Hello again Trevor. Funny you should mention V2 as I not long brought a reissue 7'' of one of theirs off ebay not long ago too.

Thanks for dropping by again. Its always interesting to hear from the artists themselves.
