Longy...what can I say? We were totally outplayed and outclassed. The same old bullshit. Maybe things wld have been different w/ that Lampard goal (and at least we had one decent player eh?) but...it just goes to show that the reason why the Premier League is any good is because of all those Johnny Foreigners not those talentless overpaid wankers like Rooney.
Well same time in 2014...and I reckon not only will Germany beat Argentina but they will go on to win it!

PS: just grabbing that Shane doco now, you seen this?

Hi Mona, yep not alot to say is there but I agree with you. I'm over it now anyway. What world cup? Yes that Pogues is well worth having mate. A young youthful and sober Shane as well.

Hi anon. I'm not Mr Test Tube would appreciate that lol. We might make good movies but we certainly don't make good national football teams!

Cheers

Shane and I actually met in 77 and saw many early Pogues gigs, was working in Camden back then...even have Cait's parent's address in Hounslow written on the sleeve of their first single 'Waltzin' Matilda'...as for Cait, you know she climbed Everest after divorcing from Costello???
Regards/
Have to stick w/ the footie, Wimbledon, cricket and Tour de France all bore me shitless. Brazil are looking very strong but Holland!

Nice one Mona,I bet that was fun. No I didn't know that about Cait either. Yep my £20 on Brazil at 9/2 and £10 on Argentina at 7/1 are still going strong. The Germans will probably fuck up the 2nd bet but I hope not!

Yes we were outclassed. But why is Fabio so bloody stubborn playing players out of position. Then taking off Milner for Cole we already had two strikers with no service in Defoe and Rooney. No width at all and then taking off Defoe and bringing on Heskey ...give me strength. At 2-2 we would've been in with a shout and would not have played such attacking football looking for an equalliser leving such huge gaps. We need an English manager who passionately cares firstly to be English then for football not some foreigner who only thinks of the position as nothing more than a well paid job. The F.A. need to wake up also and invest in more coaches etc. in Spain they have somewhere in the region of 550 professionaly trained coaches/managers in England only around 150 it speaks for itself.

As a friend of mine said:
"the premier league is shit to say the least, take the english players pitted against each other and no wonder the media harp on about how good gerrard and lampard are every week if the majority of your opponents are the standard of Stoke, Burnley, Birmingham and Wolves and next season Blackpool.....when your average defender is titus bramble no wonder defoe looks good (actually he doesnt LOL!).... and phil neville is on the verge of a recall to the world cup squad....

english football is populated by trundling lumpheads who can run for miles and tackle and get on the end of bad clearances or shit passes and score..... but they cant fugn string a series of passes together.... english football is categorised by rare moments of brilliance and shedloads of mistakes....

the likes of frank worthington, rodney marsh and stan bowles, tony currie, hudson, brooking, hoddle are rareities and always have been and will continue to be while coaches from school age upwards place a premium on strength, stamina and idiots bombing down the wing and hoofing it into the middle in the hope that it will fall fortuitously to someone who might just have the sense of balance to be able to convert it into the goal.... largely because of the clumsiness of the defending.... watch a school kids game.... all you hear from the sidelines is "kick it"...."

Marky.if rubberface isn't sacked after this fiasco then I won't be happy. Finding a decent English Manager who is a proven winner won't be so easy though.

Another good post mona. Oh for a Frank Worthington,an Alan Hudon or a Tony Currie. We probably wouldn't pick any of them!

He only cares about his wallet Mona. Much like the overpaid wankers that attempted to play for him.

Hi Longy i didn´t know you were a sports gambler. eh eh eh
Today did you bet on the match Portugal-Spain?
I ´m so angry with our coach. Carlos Queiroz will be an eternal 2nd manager. ahahaa We were playing well then he decided to make inventions.
He lost a championship with sporting portugal dream team in the early nineties, when they had Figo´s Balakov´s , Cherbakov´s,Paulo Sousa,Stan Valckx,so on ,because of the same shit, the man don´t know anything about football tactics.I think Portugal only will win a trophee when Mourinho decides to join the national team. We still need to wait more ten years i guess, coz he only wants to train Portugal when he´s 60 yrs old.
Cristiano Ronaldo only plays well on his clubs. The man want to score free kicks from the midfield. ahaha
This World Cuo was made for Argentina,Brazil or Germany .
Television rights with these teams will be sold for a big fortune and for many countries.FIFA needs the teams they know they can sell for the best marketing. Do you know what i mean?
And sorry for my comment about 1966 Englands goal against Germany,i saw on Tv that in reality it was a valid goal, the ball was over the line.

Take care my friend

No problem Marion. I wasn't exactly sober the day we knocked out either :)

I do have the odd flutter on the football and I was going to do Spain and Japan in a double. Luckily I didn't

HOLAND VS BRASIL until now it was the best match of the World Cup.
Now i want Holland to win the trophee. I don´t like Germany, but after winning 4 -0 against Argentina they are on the bill to win as well. A final between Holland and Germany would be great.

cheers Longy

Well if the Germans win it,they would of done it the hard way beating Argentina and probably Spain and Holland. I wouldn't bet against them after seeing them destroy Argentina (and England)
