Aaaaaaaah fuck.
Everywhere I turn it's England this and England that. We're feckin sick of it up north.
A mate from England asked why we Scot's hate you so much when it comes to the world cup, but it's got nothing to do with hating you.
It's more to do with the overkill.
Put the shoe on the other foot.
You turn the tv on and you can't go ten minutes without the Scotland team getting mentioned. You reach the adverts, but they are all about Scotland as well. You turn the tv off and pick up the paper and look for a bit of news squeezed in between all the stuff about Scotland. You give up and turn on the radio. That's as fuckin' bad.
So you go out for a walk and pop into the loical corner shop for a can of pepsi and a mars bar and they are both wrapped in St Andrews flags.
If this was the case I would fully expect the English to feel exactly as we do.
Some of us would maybe even be happy to offer some support if it wasn't rammed down our throats 24/7
and here I am checking one of my favoutite blogs and it's bloody creeped in here to.
Aaaaaaaaaaaaargh.
(semi tongue in cheek post ;)

Now you know how I felt in 74 and 78! Sorry for any distress caused It's a **** thing and I can understand your feelings.

Me,well I love football and like music its a big part of my life. I wouldn't be genuine if it didn't get a mention or two. Don't worry, all this excitement won't last!

Cheers.

Nah. Don't worry about it. To be serious no one, apart from the real bawheids, up here has an issue with the English supporting their national team. It's just that the media seem to forget that there's three other nations that make up the country and try and drag us along to the party.
It's a bone of contention. Same when the Olympics roll round. When an English sprinter wins a medal it's a trumph for England, but when a Scot wins it's a triumph for Great Britain.
It's the wee things get on our tits.
As for the football today. I don't really care who wins as it will please friends from both countries regardless.
Hopefully the game wont be ruined by that incessent buzzing,

Yep I understand that too mate. Alan Wells went from a Scottish sprinter to a Great British Champion. Joe Calzaghe went from being a Welsh boxer to an undefeated Great British Champion (even though he was born in London) but the list is endless.

That buzzing is pissing me right to be honest and I'm sure the English band won't do a bad job either!

Aaah! Football and Rock'n'Roll two things that get people all hot and passionate. It's the overkill that does me about it all, flags flying etc, why do people need an excuse to fly the flag, political correctness I suppose. How many flags are gonna be flying once the Cups been won or lost? No doubt I'll catch some of the matches, but for me it's the quality of the game that counts whoever wins or loses. I'd like to see England lift the cup, just for the novelty factor, I mean we invented the bloody game and haven't won anything since 1966 if my footballing facts serve me correctly, but hey it's all rock'n'roll. All the best longy, and enjoy yerself.

Hello Nuzz me ole mucker. Yes overkill big time in this country. They build em right up and then the usual happens and we get all disappointed together. Got to enjoy the ride though mate and gotta be in it to win it (or lose it as in England's case)
