The great Dead Kennedys broke into the UK top 40 back in 1981 with this one. Unsurprisingly, they never read out the title when doing the Top Of The Pops chart rundown like they did with every other song. I remember finding quite funny at the time.Tracks
1) Too Drunk To Fuck
2) The Prey

i remember when this came out.at the time there were loads of pirate radio stations in dublin playing stuff(like this) you wouldnt hear on other stations.one morning on the school bus the driver had the radio tuned to one of these stations and the dj played this.it was great. 50 or so kids singing along loudly with the chorus.happy days mate, happy days!
thanks for rekindling some happy memories fella.cheers
Excellent stuff gobshyte. One of the reasons I like blogging is to hear such comments. I had a similar experience at our school disco when some bright spark played Bodies. The teachers were horrified but most of the kids were pogoing around loving it.
If I recall they didn't even mention the band's name on Radio 1 "At number 27 this week a record by an American band"

I would gobshyte. Its easy to work and theres millions of punk on it.
Not actually the first record to chart anonymously at the BBC, I believe that honour goes to 'Wet Dream' by Max Romeo.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_RomeoSleeve of UK TDTF, incidentally, designed by Megan Green.
Interesting stuff there Joly. Thanks for that.
