I recently brought this for 25p on Ebay. It was so cheap because of the scribbles on the back cover and label (someone pretending to autograph the cover) Still for 25p,I'm not gonna knock it. Plasmatics were one of those bands I just wish I had seen. Video footage tells me that much! If anyone was lucky enough to see them then feel free to describe the experience via the comments.R.I.P. Absolutely amazing post. I bought this one years ago in London. By the way, my copy is a coloured vinyl issued on Stiff Records. Well, I never ever had the chance to see The Plasnmatics in concert because of the iron curtain, but I watched them on German TV. There is a dvd including concert and clip footage.
Thanks a lot.
Keep on blogging like this.

Yep I used to own the multi-coloured one of this and Monkey Suit but alas they got nicked along with many others a few years ago when I was burgled. I seen quite a bit of old footage of them and for more than the obvious reasons, they looked like a great live band.
Cheers for the comment Rosenkohl1977
Cheers for sharing this.

cheers Longy
Thanks panole8riambos and Mike :-)
I remember the band playing on a late night show like SNL or something and wow out pops the chainsaw ala Wendy-O my mom thought it was absolute rubbish, but to me it was just an extention of my AWA wrestling show I would watch with my brother on Saturday nights so he could practice a "Texas Brain Buster" on my temples...ugh!

Thanks for this single. We took a road trip to see them in a little club in upstate New York, had to be 1981. The place was hot, sweaty, packed. When Wendy O chainsawed an electric guitar in half while hooked up to amps on 11, my ears were sweating too. Maybe not the tightest live band, but with that energy who cares?
Saw them back in 1980 (or was it in 81?) in Brussels. Considering the ill repute of the band live acts, they were forced to play in some kind of warehouse. Musically not the best thing I ever witnessed but still, there was Wendy stage presence (blonde stripper outfit, naked breasts with black scotch taped on the nipples...). The played with chainsaws (literally!) and managed to destroy an old car they brought with them. Fun!
Cheers Viacomclosedmedown, anon and Phillippe for your comments.
caught the 'matics a few times back in the day, but my favorite story took place at a damaged-era black flag gig... richie stotts was standing directly in front of the stage baiting henry by blowing him kisses, winking, etc. mid-song, henry leaned down and delivered a precision "glasgow handshake" that left richie with blood running down his face. i think he may have lost a few teeth...
Hey Longy, I never saw the Plasmatics wither (and don't know anyone else who did wither), but I can remember someone had a poster of Wendy on their wall, can't imagine why :-)
lol anon. Would love to of seen that.
Gary.....I know what you mean mate :-)
There is a DVD out there where at the end there is old 70's porno side show footage of Wendy launching ping pong balls great distances from a certain orifice.
Sounds good Elvis :-)
