Half Man Half Biscuit - Dickies Davies Eyes 12'' (1986)

This band crack me up with their song titles and witty lyrics. This was their 2nd single (I think)

Tracks

1) Dickie Davies Eyes
2) The Bastard Son Of Dean Fredman
3) I Left My Heart In Papworth General

'And they mocked me in my mocks & embrodied in my socks'
Still make me laugh this lot.
'The Referee's Alphabet' still a particular fave.
Always loved the fact the didnt play the tube because they'd miss Tramere Rovers home game, when Tranmere always played home games on a Friday evening.

Thank god they didn't support Liverpool. That would of put me right off em! I was impressed with their last album. National Shite Day is my favourite from that one.

excellent post Longy.

they have too many good songs to list them all but how about god gave us life, 99%of gargoyles, restless legs, joy divisions oven gloves, trumpton riots, etc. etc.

I'm also with John, The referee's alphabet is a classic. They should be much bigger than they were/are.

All great songs Gary. Your right they should be bigger than they are.....but I'm not sure they'd want to be somehow. Far too down to earth for the masses.
