Mikey Dread & The Clash - SPK - Bankrobber@ DSRR (Year = Unknown)

I wanted to post something by The Clash but is there anything out there that hasn't already been posted already? I doubt it very much. This is a mix of the Clash and Mikey Dread, a home made job by someone on the old WinMx site in the DSRR reggae room which I downloaded several years ago. Its over 25 minutes long and I love it. If you don't like
Armagideon Time or Bank Robber then its probably best you don't download it!

Posted in memory of both Joe Strummer and Mikey Dread. Two great artists. Both very sadly missed.

Love this, Mikey Dread was very much part of seing the clash live, 1 of my proudest moments as a parent was recently going with my eldest in his new car and there it was, his own copy of London Calling, he is 22. lol, Gonk , cheers mate

My 4 year old twins do a pretty good rendition of "We Are The Resort Boot Boys" too, lol. Anyway getting to the point,a week or so after Hillsborough disater The Clash appeared outside Gateshead metro station and done a 1 hour acoustic busking session as a benefit. It later appeared on a bootleg as The Lash. Mine disapeared years ago. I was telling my brother about how great this Mikey Dread/Clash was, got chatting and turns out he has got it. So lol, am basically over the effin moon. Cheers Longy - Gonk (again) ps hope am not being a blog hog but it seems evrything you post reminds me of something, I also played him Uniforms down phone lol. Thankyou

its on its way now, thanks mate, i tried doing a few of my own albums to pc with nero and line in, but always sounded crap, been ripped off a couple of times on e-bay too, hope u dont mind but so far have passed on bankrobber a couple of times and told them where it came from, 1st punk gigs i attended either had a reggae support band or played it between bands, my mate recons this was a lot to do with Joe Strummer and he also tells me the 2 tone revival was inspired by the clash, sounds feasable to me

I don't mind at all mate. Why don't you get on soulseek? Its free and you can download just about anything Punk from there.

Alot of Punk and Reggae bands played together back in the day. The Cimarons toured with Sham in 78. That was my first of live reggae.

playing it now and yes is obvious "Skit" still sounds great tho, thanks mate, heres a smile for you, my 1st time at the bridge was err 6-0 ffs and its a bloody long journey back up here with no windows in a coach lol

I remember that well. It was the one only time Phil Driver (a long haired right winger) played well in a Chelsea shirt. He was pants as well.

I prefered the 4 0 in the 83/84 season when we went top and Pat Nevin destroyed you single handed (Keegan,Beardsley,Waddle,Gazza if I remember rightly)

i was there too, lol, most pitch invasions i ever seen in 1 match, 7 i think , lol , kerry dixon was class tho, dont know why but i always had soft spot for chelsea , prob cos my 1st memory of football was 1970 cup final replay, ffs u came very close to going out of business at 1 point, believe it or not, Darlington and Stockton have a huge Chelsea following, and Im talking 30, 40+ age, not glory hunters

You don't have to tell me about how close we came mate.....and losing our ground. Must of chucked loads of money in those buckets to save the Bridge!

Its funny, I can't remember any pitch invasions on that game but it used to happen alot so I might be a bit hazey. The Leeds Utd game when we beat them 5 0 to get promotion that season saw plenty of pitch invasions for sure though lol

Not as in aggro, after each goal and probably a couple of corners lol, any wonder we never won in london for 20 years ,

Newcastle at home has nearly always been a home banker (not this season under the hapless Gene Hackman) You rarely win at ours.....we don't win too many up at yours either.
