And while Jimmy Pursey was concentrating on his solo career and rest of the Sham boys teamed up with the legendary Stiv Bators (R.I.P.) This was their debut single. Ready To Snap is slightly different from the version on the album that followed (Only Lovers Left Alive) I'll even let you have the signed cover cos I'm good like that (I got a digital camera for my Birthday and yes, I'm still trying to suss that twat out as well)
No more posts til Monday but I'm up London tomorrow for the Chelsea vs Pikey Derby
Edit: Officially in a period of mourning. If we can't beat a bunch of two-bob gypsies, what hope do we have? Gutted : - ((((((

I bought this one when it came out - great single. Interesting that you have the picture sleeve there Longy. My copy only came in a plain sleeve. Just unlucky I guess!
Kes.
GREAT SITE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
Cheers for the comments guys.
Kes, I thinks its quite rare in picture cover and its Polydors fault. The 2nd single "The Times Are A Changing" didn't even have a picture sleeve at all. The band would of been alot better off on an independant lable in my opinion.
and with a different producer. This single is quite good. Much better than their album material. The one thing that bothers me is that the mix is soooo mid range that it makes my ears hurt. Or is it my teninitus (or however you spell it)

Its you Ken lol
He,he,yeah Kenny - This was one of those singles that was cut really ‘loud‘. I don’t understand the technicalities of it all, but I recall a few like that back when I was buying punk singles as a teenager. When you put the needle on the groove they jumped out of the speakers so much louder than other singles. Another couple I remember that did the same were The Saints Perfect Day single and 1234 ep, and the Boomtown Rats Looking After….twelve inch single.
A lot of the singles I bought back then came without their pic sleeves. It was only in later years that I discovered that I had missed out. Particularly as a lot of them contained some good (For the time) evocative artwork.
Always wondered what had been going on....maybe it was because I lived in the sticks and the pic sleeve singles were kept for the major conurbations and didn‘t ‘travel‘, or were people just stealing the sleeves?!
Kes
