This one was another that came from the "bargain bin" at a hefty 20p. I won't lie,I know absolutely nothing about this band. This is more powerpop than Punk and as far is I know (which is very little) this was their only single. If you know different, then don't be afraid to educate me! Needless to say,its a tad crackly.Tracks
1) Naive
2) Innocence

Somehow I knew you'd like this Mike :-) Cheers mate.
ohh my f,..in god, this is very rare singlee, thank you longy :-)
Public Zone were basically the band Metro (a sort of Roxy Music type outfit) who released a few records on the pre-Logo label Transatlantic. After "Naive" they went back to being Metro. Stewart Copeland of The Police drums on this. One of my favourites too.
They also got this one over at kbd.

I'd really recommend anyone interested in this stuff to dig deep and get the 45 Revs book.
Active from September 1977 and led by two former members of Roxy Music-influenced group Metro (see listing) – Peter Godwin (v) and Sean Lyons (gtr) – Public Zone immediately recorded their debut single, using Stewart Copeland, on loan from The Police (see listing), as drummer (at that time he was sharing a flat with Sean Lyons) and with Hugh Murphy producing. With the recruitment of
Tony Adams (b) and Florian Miksa (d, ex-Curved Air), Public Zone began performing live to tie in with the single’s release on November 11 on the Logo imprint. NAIVE, an unissued Metro song co-written by Duncan Browne (another ex-Metro who had in the
meantime embarked on a solo career), was a reasonably good Punk(y)-Pop song; its flip,
INNOCENCE, was a rather undistinctive Godwin-penned New Wave pop number. Critical and commercial success were very
limited, although the 7” was licensed for release in Spain and in Germany: the former edition comes in a greatly modified cover
whereas the latter pressing only slightly alters the UK artwork. Public Zone dissolved in early
1978 but Godwin, Lyons and Adams remained together, re-forming Metro. Godwin later released records as a soloist, worked as a
record producer (for Honey Bane, amongst others) and as an actor; Lyons resurfaced in Hee Bee Gee Bees, Animal Magnet, Raise The
Dragon and Intimate Strangers.
Brilliant. Thanks for all the info Low Down Kids. If I wasn't so poor,I would invest in your book!
