The world is a much poorer place without the legend that is Stiv Bators in it. The Dead Boys were one of my favourite American bands,I loved the Wanderers (probably because of the totally biased Sham connection) and as for The Lords Of The New Church..........well they were just a supergroup weren't they? I wasn't as keen on Stiv's solo stuff but I've always liked this Danny Klawon penned classic which was originally a hit for The Choir back in 1966. Poptastic!Tracks
1) Its Cold Outside
2) The Last Year

Great, This was released in the UK too, as part of a short-lived Bomp experiment (New York Blondes, B-Girls...), so that's at least TWO countries where it should've been a hit.
Great record!!!
Cheers!
My favorite Stiv solo single by a mile. Love the original and think Stiv and Co. did a better job on it. Longy, agree on The Dead Boys, they were amazing
Ken
Too right Steve,it should of definately been a hit here but in the UK,Stiv was virtually unknown except for the Dead Boys. I guess there was too much great music about already for this to be on the radar.
Thanks also Mike and Kenny and NOISEBOX you have been added and I will be over for a nose later. Cheers!
Ace toon both the original and this version cheers Longy.
I'll have to track down the original and listenm to it again. Its been years since I've heard it. Cheers Marky.
Was just listening to the Choir the other day ( had a severe 60's Punk/Pebbles treatment that day)... 'It's Cold Outside" grew on me with the years... good to hear this version by Stiv Bators...
For the original version and 2 other 60's tunes covered by the Lords Of The New Church... (Rokes ' Let's Live For Today + Grass Roots ' version which became a hit in the USA) and the strictly amazing, tremendous "Question Of Temperature" a true MASTERPIECE!) just check this file:
