Cinerama - Superman (Spanish Version) 7'' (2001)

Staying on a Wedding Present theme, this is David Gedges's side project. Very mellow stuff but quite pleasant on my hungover ears. Haven't got a scooby what he's singing about though as its completely in Spanish. I brought this one at the stall last night for £2. Nice thick green vinyl,so heavy I nearly done my back in carrying it home. Had a good yap to Gedgey before the gig and a top bloke he is. My mate asked him if he was going to play his Status Quo song and surpringly he knew what he was on about. We were killing ourselves laughing. Their guitar player was very annoying though, pestering me to buy stuff from their stall which is why I ended up getting Cinerma instead of anything by The Wedding Present : -) The gig itself started off reasonably well and just got better and better as it went on. £12 well spent.

Tracks

1) Superman (Spanish Version)
2) Dura,Rapida Y Hermosa

Hi Longy. Don't bother about the lyrics because they are in spanish...I don't understand them neither! Only superman partially know what he is singing...Glad you enjoyed the concert. I don't want to be a "copycat" but I would like to post the Live 1987 concerts later just for the lack of imagination that I suffer lately...

Cheers

Hi Englishfog. Yes it was a very good performance. Live 1987 concerts sound good :-)

I downloaded this just because of your remarks about not knowing what the Spanish lyrics say. Well, yes, the singer sings in Spanish but with a strong English accent which makes it a hybrid difficult to understand. Anyway I can tell both songs are love songs. The first one is about breaking up and all, with a "you see, I failed, I'm no Superman" leitmotiv.
Btw the B-side is entitled "Dura (not 'Dupa'!!!), rápida y hermosa" (= tough, fast and gorgeous)

Saludos Longy

Fernando :)
