Thanks Gonk. Yes I think people certainly underestimated his music. It wasn't "punky" enough. I loved the first 2 albums but after that I went off them.

to be honest, i did buy 1'st 3 albums but never got into him till about 10 years ago, so agree with above, talking of overlooked, do u have XTC's 1'st album, not a request, an opinion?? TK

Yep its the only one I have TK. I've always liked the first XTC album but I struggled with them after that.

Thanks for reply, great blog, i think at the time wasnt much else to buy, Squeeze was another, i think i forced myself to like them, TRB too, "Gay" ep meant nobody shouted about em, love em all now but definately mellower now lol TK

lol yep at the time the Rising Free EP was the most unhip single you could "boast" about owning thats for sure but I was at school at the time :-)

i STILL REMEMBER HIM THE FIRST TIME i SAW eLVIS WAS SINGING ON sATURDAY nIGHT lIVE, MY SISTER HAD THE lp BUT THE TUNE WAS "pUMO iT uP" ...i REMEMBER IT BEING ALL IN WHITE SUITES AND PRETTY RADICAL. nOW i GET TO SEE HIM ON OUR tASTE OF mINNESOTA jULY 4TH cELEBRATION. i ONLY HAD HIS TAPE OF EARLY SKA lp LATER ON SO THIS POST IS GREAT TO HAVE LONGY..hANX!!
