Violators - Life On The Red Line 7'' (1983)

Very different to the last Violators posting but staying with the band, this one wasn't quite so popular. Line-up changes and a new change in sound. Again for me I prefer the B side. Sorry about the extremely digital camera un-friendly cover!

Tracks

1) Life On The Red Line
2) Crossings Of Sangsara

Alright longy, good choice of posts with The Violators, singer was a bit of a babe, intelligent band, cut from a different cloth than their peers. If you take a trip to my blog and scroll down, to the left there’s the what have we got here section and there’s a little something for ya there. Some live Violators, dunno if you’ve got it, as it was on the bands short lived web page, which seems to have disappeared. I was gonna do a full post on the blog, but I’m snowed under with stuff to do and post, so feel free to do it more justice with yer Punk Friction. If you’ve got it well……… Take care and keep on keeping on. Stay Free Brutha!

Afternoon Nuzz, I wasn't sure if I had it or not mate so I tried it and it turned out it was indeed the same one I had already. It was a split with Blitz. I expect its been blogged a few times so I won't bother. Thanks for pointing it out though mate.

As you said musically it was quite a radical change from their previous material...
Many Oi/Punk bands from that era leaned toward a more New-Wave/Joy Divisionesque(!!!!) sound at one time or another... Blitz, One Way System, UK Subs, Red Alert.... without much success for most of them.
I have this on a CD but to be honest never paid much attention to it...

Thanx,

Jeronyme.

Really like this single. You can really tell the Joy Division influence coming on. Just like Blitz they developed into a first rate band. Nice choice!

Your right Jeronyme, the bands you mention should of stayed as they were (playing punk rock)

Ken,I hated the way Blitz turned out. Love their 1st album but after that,I wasn't impressed!
