Ramones - Rock 'N' Roll High School 7'' (1979)

What is one of the hardest possible Punk Rock related question you could ask? Well today I'm going to ask it and I want just one answer from you please. What is the best ever Ramones song? Not easy I know.

My answer is "Commando"

Tracks

1) Rock 'N' Roll High School
2) Rockaway Beach (Live)
3) Sheena Is A Punk Rocker (Live)

"Blitzkrieg Bop" It's where it all began so I'll go with that one but hey FUCKING AMAZING band so many brilliant songs.

Chewing out a rhythm on my bubble gum...

Nearly impossible question to answer Longy, but I'm going with Rockaway Beach, slightly edging out Time Bomb, for my choice.

Cheers!

Might as well count the number of angels on the head of a pin.

Blitzkrieg Bop
Cretin Hop
Rock N Roll Radio
She's The One
Sheena Is A Punk Rocker

I thought i was gonna be able to answer this question. I started looking through my collection, and i can't. I guess if I really had to Rockaway Beach, but just by alittle bit.
and btw, it's not the greatest but Don't Come Close off Road To Ruin is a really good one that doesn't get alotta talk.

OK I'll go for "Outsider"... somehow it took me some time to really get into Ramones... it's with "Subterrean Jungle" that I really got hooked... so... but then again....

Thanks for your comments and as I half expected no-one has the same answer. Point is it could be one of dozens.

I will go for Highest Trails above just to be awkward lol

I'll plump for Glad To See You Go from the Leave Home LP or Wart-Hog for it sheer energy and snarling!
I had the pleasure of seeing The Ramones several times, once with Motorhead (awesome gig)- they never failed to disappoint - in awe of the late, great Johnny Ramone!

Hi mate, I guess I can't say anything new about them. They are the best punk band that I ever lived. So it's a tricky question to me. Cheers on you!!

Today it's easy, Rockaway Beach. Back in the Punk old ways it would have been impossible........ :-D

Best wishes from Sweden

Havana Affair from It's Alive - a minute and a half of perfection from one of the greatest albums ever

I think "Loudmouth" and "Warthog" encompass the Ramones persona well. I always played the hell out of the Bonzo Goes To Bitburg 7" also the demo of "53rd and 3rd" rocks well.

Yeah, the most difficult question ever!

But I'll go for "Ramona". So much memories, the whole Rocket to Russia album by the way.

I went to New York once, and the first thing I did was walking up to 53 and 3rd, so, maybe that one as well!

a bit late to the party but Blitzkreig boop for me, but as everyone else there are so many to choose from, but their cover of California Sun is pure magic.

This is a tough one but I gotta get into the action here. My most favorite Ramones song varies over the years: (in no particular order)

Blitzkrieg Bop
She's a Sensation
Time Bomb
Sheena is a Punk Rocker
I Wanna Be Sedated
Rockaway Beach
Strength to Endure
Bonzo Goes to Bitburg

and right now it's
Somebody Like Me (replacing Bonzo at the top spot)

Whew, that's hard!

Longy said...

Thanks for your comment PRD. Its certainly not an easy one.

"Oh Oh I Love Her So", but it is hard to choose, Rocaway Beach is also pure Ramones perfection.

They made the mistake of turning the jukebox right up in the pub this afternoon so my favourite Ramones song today was "Tomorrow She Goes Away"
