The first pressing of this Manic's classic on the Heavenly label. Its totally different from the re-issued versions of these songs which were released a year later and also found on the Manic's debut LP (Generation Terrorists) To be honest,I think I prefer the re-issued versions but this is still well worth a listen.R.I.P. Still rather this to the later re-release. Still got a 12 inch copy of this. Used to see Richie on the bus quite often round this time (always wearing that leopard print shirt and white jeans, like he'd just come off stage.) One of my favourite Manics moments this (along with Motown Junk)

My mate Gareth is from the same place as the Manics (Blackwood is it?) He says Nicky Wire used to serve him in the local social club and once diddled him out of 14p. He's never forgotten it either!
Yes they're Blackwood boys. I come from a town a few miles down the road (originally) so we were on the same bus route. First met Richie years before the Manics when I was an apprentice electrician working next door to his Mother's hairdressers in Blackwood high street, (in another hairdressers, that's all there is in Blackwood) and we used to talk about music during me lunch breaks.
Good footballer Nicky Wire played at school boy level for Wales.
J
I don't think even Nicky Wire could of made a difference to the Welsh National team lol
Do you ever see any Manics around your way anymore John? Or are they holed up in some expensive London appartment?
I must admit the last time I saw them live,I really thought they were going through the motions and really "acted" like spoilt popstars. No encore,no autographs for the kids outside at the end. I found it all a bit disappointing.
They still live quite local as far as I know. Nicky Wire in Watsville (small town just outside of Blackwood, hence 'Watsville Blues' on the 'Know your Enemy, L.P.)Mr Bradfiled I know had a flat in Cardiff bay (apparently they had to take a window out when he moved in so they could a garnd piano in) not sure about Mr Moore.
To be honest they've always acted like pop stars, even before they were famous. Ask any local scenester down here, but I think that's part of their charm. Mr Wire has always been one to speak his mind and stir things up a bit,
and to be honest, I think he could have kept Hartson out of the starting 11 at the time.
J
Well its good if they can stick up their roots and stay local. Cheers for the info John.
PS Anyone could of kept Hartson out of that team!
Funny, I was going to post this this weekend! Oh well. Love this ep and I prefer this over the ep that ended up on their debut. Maybe I will do New Art Riot or Motown Junk instead. Nice pick Longy...love the Manics!
Sorry Ken....that makes up for Angry posting that Flys CD the same night I took nearly 4 hours ripping the vinyl (I'm still recovering from that one!)
LOL. I guess that is what happens when we all like the same band!!!!
Manics trivia - Sean Moore - drummer - lives in/near Weston super Mare with his missus. At least he can see South Wales on a clear day. James Dean Bradfield lives in North London ( with his missus.
New album of Richey penned songs out soon !!
Gutted about Saturday.Thank god I'm off on longish term sick leave at moment - I'd have had the piss ripped out of me in the office.
Steve
Cheers for that info Steve. Nice one.
Yes I'm lying very low after Saturday. I don't mind us losing or playing crap. I've come to live with it over the years but I do not accept it against Tottenham under any circumstances.
Re the Manics -
NEW MANICS ALBUM AND TOUR ANNOUNCED
Not heading this way for the moment - looking forward to the album.
Cheers Steve. Should be well worth a listen.
