Listening to this one again,it sounds like a victim of the time it was released and is weak for Kirk and that is a rarity in itself. Personally,I preper the B side which is a bit better.

Saw Spear quite a bit during this period. While some of the recorded stuff does sound now very 80's indeed, live they were a bit special. When you threw in stuff from 'Grapes of wrath' and 'one eyed jacks' and the very occasional TOH number, and Dolphin Taylor of SLF on drums you were in for a good night. Flat tops and Hiltler youth haircuts as far as the eye could see. :)

Kirks just a brilliant artist be it The Pack,TOH or SOD. Great voice,great energy live and one of the UK's most undervalued artists of all time (along with Justin Sullivan of course)
I've just ordered Spear Of Destiny-Manor Mobile Sessions CD off ebay as it happens. I've never heard of it myself.
