Ah The Skids. They played in one of the smallest sweatiest venues that I knew - downstairs in the "hall" at Huddersfield Poly student union bar - probably 1978. It rates as one of my top gigs of all time - they had a set of about 10 songs - including Into The Valley ,TV Stars etc. For an encore they played all the songs again. Then for another encore they played all the singles again. Classic stuff.
More trivia - this tiny toilet venue was the place where I also saw The Cure (3 Imaginary Boys era - bizarre really - the stage was two foot high and basically I stood next to Robert Smith while they performed),Punishment of Luxury,Chas and Dave,Adam and the Ants,Darts,Doctor and the Medics,Otway and Barrett and rock god .... err Jake Thackeray

Don't forget this Friday its SLF and Chelsea at the Hippo in Plymouth if you fancy taking in a gig.
