The Abyssinians - Satta Massagana CD (1993)

Probably my favourite Roots Reggae album. Simply perfect. This was originally released in 1976 and it wasn't until 1993 that it was finally released on CD (including 4 bonus tracks) The title track is sung in some Rastafarian churches as a hymn during services. As anti-religious as I am,that happens to be my favourite Abyssinians song. Click on the second cover for the tracklist and seriously,if you love reggae then grab this gem.

Thanks anon and Gary. Gary they don't come better than this for de-stressing/chilling/relaxing. Beautiful melodies. I should listen to this at Stamford Bridge lol

I'm looking forward to hearing this CD, thanks. I have quite a bit of Lee Perry, Trojan Records, King Tubby etc, but haven't heard this one.

Great blog here, by the way. You can't beat a good honest vinyl rip - including the crackle on the lead in! A lot of so-called "remastering" for CD seems badly done.

Cheers

Pad

Thanks Pad. I'm glad you like the blog and would be surprised if you didn't like this one. PS you wouldn't like some of my vinyl rips!
